Future Average Order Value

Overview

The Average Order Value (AOV) model makes a data-backed prediction of a customer's average order value over the course of their subscribed history with your brand. You can use this prediction to identify top prospects and focus your marketing efforts accordingly.

Average Order Value is available as an attribute in the Audience Builder and Contact Profile.

Contact your CSM to enable the Average Order Value model in your account.

Use cases

  • Use the Average Order Value model to identify top prospects and prioritize them with white-glove services and loyalty programs
  • Focus retention and win-back strategies on customers with a high AOV score, nurturing them with education opportunities and small-step upsells

How future Average Order Value is predicted

Cordial Edge factors in a customer's average order value, total orders, and lifespan (so far) to predict their future Average Order Value. Average Order Value data is refreshed on a daily basis via Data Job.

Available values

Cordial Edge places contacts into the following categories:

  • High: above the 75th percentile of average order value
  • Medium: between the 25th and 75th percentile
  • Low: below the 25th percentile
  • No purchase: contacts who have no recorded purchases

Use Average Order Value

Average Order Value is an array of strings: crdl_ai_average_order_value_category

Build an audience with Average Order Value

1. Navigate to Contacts > Audiences and select New or edit an existing audience. 

2. Under rules, type in Cordial AI or locate it under Attributes.

3. Click on Cordial AI Average Order Value Category or drag it into the Include Contacts section. 

4. Enter the desired Average Order Value—high, medium, or low—to load applicable contacts.

5. Click the Actions button and select Save

6. Once your audience is saved, you can select it when creating or editing messages across channels.

View a contact's Average Order Value

1. To view Average Order Value for an individual contact, navigate to Contacts > Contact Profile and select the contact. 

2. Click the Attributes tab and locate the Cordial AI Average Order Value Category attribute.
